Presentation of Thanasis Triaridis’ Poetry Collection

23 May 2025 | Simoun Bookstore Café

At the welcoming space of Simoun Bookstore Café, the new poetry collection by Thanasis Triaridis was presented, titled “And the trains of slaughter whistle for Nazism”, subtitled “Poems 2022–2024”. The author was introduced and engaged in a substantial dialogue with poet and physician Thomas Ioannou, while the audience had the opportunity to meet the author in person and explore a body of work deeply engaged with historical memory, justice, and moral awareness in today’s world.

The collection consists of 46 “poems” – 46 text gestures aiming to connect the moral and political life of the West with the despair of the world’s excluded. With sharp yet deeply moving language, the author emphasized the vital need for remembrance, responsibility, and empathy as essential conditions for the survival of any free society.
