The Project “Adriatic Route for Thematic Tourism (ADRIATIC-ROUTE)”/ 2°ord./0039/0 has been funded by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance and lasted from October 2012 till March 2016. The ADRIATIC-ROUTE project focused on promoting cultural, gastronomic and other alternative forms of tourism in the surrounding countries of the Adriatic Sea basin through the use of multimodal transport systems. Its final outcome, a Web-GIS platform (available in all partners’ languages - Albanian, Bosnian, Croatian, Greek and Italian plus English) offers georeferenced multimedia content to tourists and provides useful, up-to-date information on featured destinations, such as travel directions, local Points of Interest and thematic routes to be visited, local and inter-regional gastronomy. A useful instrument for hi tech tourism but also for professional of tourism interested in developing trans-Adriatic routes, as well as new products and services.
