AD HOC Accessible and Digitalized Cultural Heritage for persons with disabilities

The aim of this project is to create a strategic partnership in the field of higher education with the purpose to create and share innovative practices in the digitalization of the cultural heritage and its accessibility for persons with disabilities. The general goal of this project is to bring archaeological cultural heritage closer to the public, including different categories of the population, preferably through on-line courses. Through the project activities the awareness of the value and importance of archaeological heritage among the general public will be raised and the field of archaeology and conservation science will be popularized. Reaching these goals, we shall draw on the experience of our partners from European countries with longer archaeological traditions and, in doing so, we shall foster a sense of common European identity.

Objectives:

-Digitalization of the cultural heritage in formats accessible to all and hence enabling on-line and distance learning as well as long life learning.

-Foster quality improvements and excellence in innovation at the high education institution level through enhanced transnational cooperation between education and training providers and other stakeholders.

-Promote the cultural heritage and its values among persons with disabilities and improve their level of key competences and skills, in particular with relevance to the labor market and their contribution to a cohesive society.

-Create innovative ways for sharing effective methods in learning and recognizing culture and history for people with fewer opportunities (visual, auditory and intellectual problems), addressing the opportunities and implications of digitalization;

-Foster the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities;

-Support equality in learning culture and history and foster the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities;

-Foster social and educational value of European cultural heritage, its contribution to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion;
