Photini Papahatzi, MA
Cultural manager, educator and artist
Photini is a versatile professional with a diverse background in cultural management, education, and the arts. Holding a Master's degree in Arts Management from City University of London and a degree in European Civilization from Hellenic Open University, she is deeply engaged in various cultural networks and initiatives. She is a member of the Bosch Alumni Network, of Culture for Change network, a Tandem-Turkey recipient, a fellow of START Create Cultural Change program and an Anna Lindh Foundation Creativity grant recipient.
Since 2007, Photini has been actively involved in designing and implementing socio-cultural projects across Greece's periphery. She is a certified trainer in adult education, facilitating non-formal education programs and photography workshops since 2008.
Since 2016 she is leading the platform "Postcards from home", an international art community that reflects and creates on the theme of home in collaboration with photographers, curators, researchers, and institutions worldwide.
She works with various organisations on projects for people experience social exclusion: in CRISALIS (CReative Initiatives in Socialenterprises for Assistance, Labour Integration and Self-development) a scheme aimed at the social integration and economic empowerment of women victims of human trafficking, funded by the EU DG Home Affairs AMIF Fund, in refugee camps giving photo therapy workshops (2016,2017), in Kinetika (www.kinetika.co.uk) on project development, video documentation and creation, press & marketing (2002-2004).
Photini is the Education and Outreach Coordinator of Preveza JazzFestival (2018-2024), coordinator of European and educational programs forEntefxis-Photometria Festival (“Frames of European Common Life” Grundtvigpartnership), Ioannina and a project manager for the NGO CulturePolis(2007-2016). She has organised and participated in contemporary art exhibitions(most recent: 6th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, Sep.2017- Jan.2018, and The Provinces , TAF Athens 2019) and in photography exhibitions in NY, Cuba, UK, Germany, Greece, FYROM, Russia and Croatia. Her works are held in private collections in Greece and abroad.
Photini is one of the artists selected to participate in the project ‘Lhi-Lna- Living History-Living Nature’under the framework of the "Greece – FYROM IPA Cross-Border Programme2007-2013", an intensive programme of artistic creation for the enhancement of the local historic and natural heritage of the two areas involved. She managed the SEE TCP project SUSTCULT for CulturePolis "Achieving sustainability through an integrated approach to the management of cultural heritage" and has conducted research for recording and documentation of local traditional gastronomy of the Periphery of Arta, Epirus for an inventoryof Historic and cultural events related to Gastronomy in the framework of CrltCUZINE Cultural gastronomic particularities.
